What is changing?
Starting 5/15, large paper bags will incur an environmental fee of 5ยข per bag to discourage their use and promote reusable options. Our paper bags will be slowly transitioned out.
How is this making a difference?
- Introducing an environmental fee reduces the use of single-use bags by more than 66%.
- Right now, 80% of paper bags are not recycled and end up in landfills. This change will keep millions of bags out of landfills.
- Reusing bags is currently proven to be the most sustainable option to reduce our carbon footprint.
